Catching up- Lanchester Monday Art Group.

First -demonstration of watercolour by Andy Taylor of a picture from the internet of water, island, trees and mountains which he did not know its location. Painting with three colours, flat bushes ( which he called chisels) and three pots of water- he maintained that he must keep his watercolours clean.
After an internet search it turned out to be a screensaver which had been reversed horizontally.

The actual view is Lochan Urr in Glen Etive Scotland.

The picture I started on the first session I torn up and started again with the correct view.

Lochan Urr

Grasmere Cumbria
Similar view from an old sketch book. Both on Saunders Waterford hence the subdued colour with not a flat brush in sight and only one pot of water.

Collage

KY1015
Circles of coloured tissue paper stuck on randomly and fishing boat at Crail Harbour added in acrylics. 10 x 12 inches on canvas board.

Cumbrian Farm
Canvas board painted black then coloured tissue added from cool in the background to warm in the foreground. Text paper added for the building and some acrylic paint.
I had problems photographing the picture- the blues are not the right colour and the warm colours are much more subtle than shown. 20 x 16 inches.
